Former Co-Host of ‘The View’ Predicts the Show Will Be Canceled
Former co-host of “The View,” Rosie O’Donnell, asserts that ABC is on the verge of canceling the show in an attempt to placate former President Donald Trump.
In a TikTok video, O’Donnell reacted to a report from the Daily Beast indicating that ABC executives, including Disney CEO Bob Iger, are assessing the show’s “liberal bias” and advising its hosts to moderate their tone.
“They claim they’re not canceling it—they’re merely ‘reviewing the bias,’” O’Donnell stated. “Which translates to—we’re going to cancel it, we’re just trying to prepare you first.”
O’Donnell referred to Trump as the “orange messiah” and accused the network of suppressing dissenting opinions. “They assert they desire ‘balance.’ But what they truly mean is silence. This isn’t about bias—it’s about compliance,” she remarked, emphasizing that any program that diverges from “Trumpism” is in jeopardy.
Citing a poem about the Holocaust, she cautioned, “First they came for the journalists. Then the educators. Then the librarians. Now it’s Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg.”
She characterized the current political environment as “a dictatorship with good lighting.” O’Donnell left the country for Ireland following Trump’s election.
The former View co-host encouraged women to voice their opinions instead of retreating. “The most perilous sound in the world is a woman who is informed—and refuses to be silenced,” she stated.
ABC and The View did not provide comments when approached by Fox News Digital.
Trump spokesperson Taylor Rogers dismissed O’Donnell’s remarks, labeling her “an irrelevant loser with too much time on her hands.”
Rogers also criticized The View’s ratings, implying that the show is already nearing cancellation.
This controversy follows CBS’ cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last month, which occurred after the network reached a settlement with Trump regarding a 60 Minutes interview edit involving Vice President Kamala Harris. This development has sparked speculation that networks are reducing left-leaning programming.
O’Donnell has a lengthy history of criticizing Trump, most of which consists of unfounded allegations.
The former Hollywood actress and comedian stated that her long-standing feud with Donald Trump escalated after the president threatened to revoke her U.S. citizenship following her relocation to Ireland.
“He continues to use me as a punching bag and a means to energize his supporters,” O’Donnell remarked in mid-July. “I take great pride in opposing everything he articulates and embodies. I believe he is a racist, misogynistic, and sexist individual, posing a threat to women and children globally.”
Trump subsequently posted on Truth Social that O’Donnell is “a Threat to Humanity” and that he is “seriously considering revoking her Citizenship.” He further stated, “She should stay in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they desire her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”
O’Donnell retaliated on social media, labeling Trump as “a criminal con man sexual abusing liar” and “a perilous old soulless man with dementia who lacks empathy, compassion, and basic humanity.”
White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson then dismissed O’Donnell’s remarks as “unhinged rants” and “a symptom of late-stage TDS.”
“Thank goodness she is no longer in the United States,” Jackson informed Fox News Digital.
The rivalry traces back to 2006, when O’Donnell criticized Trump on The View regarding his management of a Miss USA scandal. Since that time, they have exchanged insults concerning engagements, health issues, politics, and the elections of 2016 and 2024.
O’Donnell confirmed in March that she departed the U.S. for Ireland after Trump’s 2024 victory, citing safety and equal rights concerns for her family.
“We will contemplate returning only when it is secure for all citizens in America to possess equal rights,” she stated, describing the political atmosphere as “heartbreaking.”
Trump has persistently poked fun at her, even making a jest during a White House gathering with Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, saying, “Are you aware that you have Rosie O’Donnell? You are better off not being aware.”
